The National widget company is re-hiring 50 laid off employees in Victoria. Originally laid off in 2018, this company plans to hire back all 200 employees across Canada.
“The increase in sales has been unprecedented. We think this opportunity opens up enormous markets which will last for years,” said National Widget Company President Andrew Bryce. Widget sales have increased steadily over the last couple of months.
“We have sent recall notices to all employees who were laid off in June,” Bryce said. Employees will be called in over the next few weeks and in 6 weeks the plant will be working at full capacity.
The National Widget Company has been producing widgets longer then any other company in Canada. It began in 1888 and is now run by the great-grandson of the founder.
